Our Story

Welcome to our blog! Here's the quick and dirty about us:

Chad and I met on our first day of college at Utah State University. We started studying together, since we were in the same math class and lived in the same apartment building. But, those late-night study sessions quickly turned into excuses to hang out together. And that's how our story began. After two years of dating, we tied the knot on August 17, 2002 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

We currently live in Tucson, Arizona. We moved here after living in South Florida for five years, where Chad graduated from medical school and completed his internship year of residency. He is now working for the University of Arizona completing a three-year anesthesiology residency. I was fortunate enough to keep my job from Florida and now work remotely from home. I am the manager of advertising and communications for the business school at Nova Southeastern University.

And--most importantly--Chad and I are thrilled to be parents! Our little angel Reece was born on Jan. 26, 2010 and our handsome little Jace was born on June 30, 2011. We are so blessed to be the mom and dad of such darling and sweet kids.

Dr. Chad! Medical School Graduation Festivities...

Chad graduated from medical school on Sunday, May 25th.

WAY TO GO DR. CHAD!!!

His commencement ceremony was such an amazing milestone for both of us. Seeing Chad walk on stage to get hooded and receive his diploma was very moving--its was symbolic of all the hard work and dedication he has put forth these past four years. Watching him recite the physicians oath was also amazing--it was a similitude of the responsibility and honor that's associated with serving in his profession. I couldn't be more proud! It was extremely special for him to have his parents there to support him and cheer him on.

Sorry for the dark picutres; the lighting was really bad inside the arena.

In addition to the actual commencement ceremony, Chad had several graduation festivities during the week leading up to graduation. We had a dinner at The Mai Kai, a Polynesian restaurant that has yummy food and fabulous belly dancing entertainment. We also attended a semi-formal dinner and awards ceremony, which was held at the The Diplomat Hotel in Hollywood, Fla. Both events were really fun, and it was nice getting to see all of Chad's classmates one last time before everyone moves on. And the highlight--Chad was able to bust some of his moves on the dance floor!

This is Chad's dean dancing on stage at the Mai Kai.

Looks like a doctor to me...glad to see that being in medical school has helped him to mature! :-)

It has been a true honor to be Chad's wife, and to have stood by his side during this time in his life. Although some times were difficult and the hours seemed endless, we can both look back with fond memories, and a marriage that has grown and been strengthened. He is truly an example to me of what great success can come from working hard, persevering, and never giving up. I know our future children will have an amazing father to look up to!

Although this past week was filled with milestones and celebration, the end is not quite here. Chad has four more years of residency before he is completely done. But hey, we're half way there! :-) Here's to four more years filled with fun, happiness, success and good health!

Way to go, Chaddie....Oops, I mean Dr. Chaddie. :) Wish we could have been there...oh, who am I kidding - I didn't even want to go to my own graduation. But I am extremely proud of all your hard work. It will all be worth it. Now that we have a Dr. in the family, I've been meaning to ask you about this sleeping problem I've been having...

Congratulations-to the both of you. I know how much work it is for you too, Deb. Enjoy these last few weeks before intern year begins. It isn't as bad as everyone says, but it can be worse then any med school rotation.
