Our Story

Welcome to our blog! Here's the quick and dirty about us:

Chad and I met on our first day of college at Utah State University. We started studying together, since we were in the same math class and lived in the same apartment building. But, those late-night study sessions quickly turned into excuses to hang out together. And that's how our story began. After two years of dating, we tied the knot on August 17, 2002 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

We currently live in Tucson, Arizona. We moved here after living in South Florida for five years, where Chad graduated from medical school and completed his internship year of residency. He is now working for the University of Arizona completing a three-year anesthesiology residency. I was fortunate enough to keep my job from Florida and now work remotely from home. I am the manager of advertising and communications for the business school at Nova Southeastern University.

And--most importantly--Chad and I are thrilled to be parents! Our little angel Reece was born on Jan. 26, 2010 and our handsome little Jace was born on June 30, 2011. We are so blessed to be the mom and dad of such darling and sweet kids.

October Trips..to Florida, Utah and the Hospital!

October has been a months of trips for the Crowthers. First, we travelled together to Florida. Chad and Reece left after 4 days, while Deb stayed for the whole week because she had to work. It was lots of fun...Reece got to go to the beach for the first time, we saw some of our friends who we miss so much, and just enjoyed being back on our old stomping grounds.

Chad and Reece flew from Fort Lauderdale to Park City, Utah for a few days of family fun. Chad even went hunting with his dad and brothers...and in keeping with tradition...they didn't get an elk! :) Reece had a great time with grandma, her aunts and cousins while the boys were gone hunting. And to finish up the "trips," Chad had a trip to the hospital. Let me explain...

On his last day in Utah, Chad woke up with a bad stomach ache. Unfortunately, he was scheduled to catch an early morning flight to Phoenix. So, he toughed it out and got our little baby and flew home to me. During his way to the SLC airport he threw up twice, on the flight he threw up another 5 times, and while waiting for his luggage at baggage claim he threw up again! Needless to say, when I saw him he did not look well! During our 2-hour drive home from Phoenix he threw up several more times. But despite all the throwing up his stomach pain did not lessen. So, a few hours later we decided to take him to the hospital. He was diagnosed with appendicitis and went into surgery around 8 p.m. that night. Thanks to all of our wonderful friends who helped watch Reece during our day of drama...we could not have survived without you!!! I am happy to report that the surgery went well and Chad is feeling much better now.
So, our month of trips is over...and we are not hoping to make any more trips to the hospital anytime soon! :)
