Reece's First Birthday!

Reece celebrated her first birthday yesterday! She had a fun-filled day. For starters, we went to the park and Reece got to feed/play/laugh/watch the ducks. She eventually built up enough courage to try and chase the ducks! :) Later that evening, we celebrated by letting Reece demolish her giant cupcake birthday cake. She didn't really eat any of it, but had a great time playing with it! It was Debbie's first attempt at a cupcake cake...and it turned out "so so." After a bath to clean up the cake mess, Reece ended her big day by opening fun presents and playing with them. She had a great day!

Here are statistics and updates about Reece at 1 year old:

- She is still topping the charts in the 95% for height (31 inches) and is 20 lbs. 7 oz. (still right in the middle in the 50%)

- She is BUSY BUSY BUSY! (note the photos below....she likes to climb and crawl into everything and anything)

- She is very smiley and happy and healthy!

- She is sort of a bully...she likes to take toys that other kids are playing with no matter how many other toys are available to play with (I guess we'll need to start working on the whole concept of sharing!)

- She thinks her dad is so FUNNY! She LOVES to wrestle with him, and starts smiling and laughing whenever she sees him (it's very adorable!)

- She is starting to figure things out...like how to press buttons, how to drop and throw things, etc.

- She likes to TALK (guess who she gets that from??)...she's always jibber jabbering, laughing, screaming, and even growling (yes, I said growling!)

- She is "kind of" learning to sing songs. I say "Old McDonald had a farm" and she says "eieieiei" (still working on the "oooo" part)

- She blows kisses (well, she attempts to anyway)

- She is NOT walking....despite her dad's best efforts! :)

- She LOVES her blanket! In fact, that little blankie has turned into our saving grace at the gym daycare...she no longer cries and freaks out as long as she has her blankie! (wish I would have figured that out 9 months ago!)

- She eats table food exclusively and is now drinking whole mile (no more formula...yay!!!)

Most of all, Reece is fun, fun, fun! She laughs, and plays, and giggles, and crawls, and is just so much fun! We are so lucky to have her as a part of our family, and feel privileged to be her parents!
