Our Story

Welcome to our blog! Here's the quick and dirty about us:

Chad and I met on our first day of college at Utah State University. We started studying together, since we were in the same math class and lived in the same apartment building. But, those late-night study sessions quickly turned into excuses to hang out together. And that's how our story began. After two years of dating, we tied the knot on August 17, 2002 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

We currently live in Tucson, Arizona. We moved here after living in South Florida for five years, where Chad graduated from medical school and completed his internship year of residency. He is now working for the University of Arizona completing a three-year anesthesiology residency. I was fortunate enough to keep my job from Florida and now work remotely from home. I am the manager of advertising and communications for the business school at Nova Southeastern University.

And--most importantly--Chad and I are thrilled to be parents! Our little angel Reece was born on Jan. 26, 2010 and our handsome little Jace was born on June 30, 2011. We are so blessed to be the mom and dad of such darling and sweet kids.

Six Unspectacular Quirks...

OK...let me just say that I am usually not into the whole blog "tag" thing. But, since my cute sis-in-law tagged me, I felt a little obligated (So, this is for you Annie!). Since I was tagged, I am now supposed to write 6 unspectacular quirks about myslef. So, here it goes...

1) I am a little (Chad says a lot) OCD. I like to call it "clean" or "anal," but I guess you could also call it borderline OCD. For example, I like to have things in their proper place. Like the photo album on our coffee table, piles of paper on our counter, books on the table, or the pillows on our couch. Every night before I go to bed...and sometimes I do this several times throughout the day...I arrange the pillows on our couch so they are in their proper place. I also move the photo album so it is centered on our coffee table. What's so weird about that??? (Secretly, I think Chad messes things up just to see how long it will take me to move them.) I've also been known to straighten pictures on the wall at other people's houses if they are crooked...I guess that's a bit much. Chad gets a little embarrased by this one. Honestly, I do it without thinking about it. Oops!

2) I make our bed right before we go to sleep at night. Another thing I don't think is all that weird...I mean, who likes to go to bed in a big messed up pile of sheets and blankets??? No one! So, I make the bed before I get in it to go to sleep. I usually don't have time to make it in the morning, so I just do it at night time. I can't sleep if my sheets are all balled up and twisted...so it only makes sense if you ask me!

3) I use my toes in place of fingers. As most of you probably know...I have really long toes. I know...you're jealous! So if possible, rather than taking the effort to bend over and pick something up, I simply grab it between my toes. Simple as that!

4) I have a floor fettish. I hate dirty floors. They just plain gross me out. Dust...doesn't bother me at all. But I can't stand a dirty floor. I know you probably agree. How many times have you walked on a dirty floor and got a bunch of crap stuck to your bare feet? Or layed down on the carpet only to get up with your clothes covered with lint, hair, etc? It's disgusting...right? As a result, I vacuum and sweep at least twice a week. No dirty floors at my house!! My sister-in-law (Callee) once told me that she'll laugh when I have kids, because it'll make me change my OCD ways!

5) This next quirk probably is a result of the above floor fettish quirk. I have a bad habit of picking stuff off other people...like fuzz balls on shirts, hair, or things on my husband's face. It drives him nuts.

6) I'm a flosser. I floss my teeth at least everyday...or more. I carry an extra roll of it in my purse at all times (You never know when you might need it!). And I hate to have the feeling of stuff stuck between teeth. I have a bad habit of sucking air between my teeth, and a recently-flossed set of teeth really makes that easier. I admit, this is really kind of weird. Oh well! But it is true that you shouldn't neglect your gums! :-)

There you have it...six of my wierd quirks. I think I'm supposed to tag other people now, but I'm not going to. Since I don't really like the whole blog tag thing anyway! :-)

Well, we are definitely sisters! I'm afraid we both struggle with our OCD. I was laughing so hard because I do all the same things you do...except clean the floors everyday. I wish I had you around to do that for me. I do remember you vacuuming everyday for the summer we lived together in Boise. Those were the days...

I make my bed before going to sleep too. My husband also thinks I'm crazy.

Deb, I would say those are all good things to have as quirks! I am with you on the dirty floor thing. There is nothing more gross than getting specks of dirt and crumbs stuck to your bare feet!

And P.S., those pictures of you with your sisters are so cute! All of you girls are beautiful. And, I think it is adorable that Chad makes you birthday cakes. He needs to talk to Todd.

Deb, you're so funny, you make me laugh. I loved the costume, I need to find someone who will see Twlight with me, Andy thinks I'm bizarre to want to see it. Tell Chad we can have a pumpkin carving contest next year, it must be a Crowther gene.
