Chad's family (including Chad's parents, little brother, big sister, and two nephews) came to visit us--probably for the last time while we're in Florida (sad!). We had lots of fun together. To start off the trip, we all stayed in Orlando together for a few days. We went swimming, picked fresh citrus from a big orchard, enjoyed a dinner show called Arabian Nights, and got some sunshine at Disney World's Blizzard Beach. (Side note: in addition to soaking up the sun at the water park, we also got MAJOR wedgies from going down a water slide that had a 90 degree drop off! OUCH! Luckily, I DON'T have any pictures of that! LOL!)
After making it back to Fort Lauderdale, the Crowther Clan crammed into our condo for some fun-family-bonding! :-) In addition to just spending time together, we went out to eat (Callee needed to get her lobster!), went to the beach, and went to The Lion Country Safari.
The Lion Country Safari was way cool! We drove our car through the open range to see tons of different animals (most from Africa). As you can see from the pictures below...there were all kinds of animals. (Another Side note: Personally, the ostriches freaked me out! Those things just don't look right...and those ginormous beaks scare me to death!)
See what I mean?? Kind of freaky...right?
A wildebeest!
This was cool...a mother ostrich with her eggs!
No, that's not Chad. It's just a chimp playing on a tire swing. :-)
The Rhinos were so close they literally touched our car.
A baby rhino!! So cute!
At the end, we were able to get out of the car and feed the giraffes. It was really cool...although their long tongues took a bit of getting used to.
BTW- No! Chad is not actually french kissing this giraffe...although it sure looks like it.
I was a little apprehensive about the giraffe getting so close and personal. :-)
